Advice, information and equipment for horse riding!

Horse riding is the art of riding a horse. It has its roots in antiquity, particularly in the use of horses for hunting, warfare, pulling or carrying. Dressage, show jumping, cross-country, working on foot – horse riding encompasses a number of techniques. They all have one thing in common. The rider must know how to tame his horse and create a relationship of trust with him, so that he allows himself to be guided quite naturally by it.

Available from the age of 3 in certain clubs (baby pony), horse riding is gradually shedding its reputation as an elitist pastime and opening up to a wider public.

What equipment do I need to start riding?

For safe and comfortable riding, beginners should have :

  • A CE-certified helmet to protect the head
  • Riding trousers for greater comfort (grip, freedom of movement, etc.)
  • A protective waistcoat (back protector) with the CE standard. When seated, the back protector should not extend beyond the lower back. It must not impede the movement of the neck (if in doubt, ask the seller for advice)
  • Riding boots and mini chaps
