What is Zumba?
Zumba is a fitness discipline that combines aerobic exercise with rhythmic choreography. For the record, its creator Alberto Perez created the concept almost by accident in the 90s. He was preparing to give an aerobics class when he realised that he had forgotten the music he was used to using. So he had to improvise with what was at hand – his own Latin music.
As its name suggests, this physical activity consists of doing as much as possible to dynamic music (Latin, Jazz, Bollywood, etc.). There are now several types of Zumba to suit everyone’s needs, age and level: Aquazumba, ZumbaToning, ZumbaintheCircuit, Zumbagold, Zumbatomic, etc

If there’s one physical activity that combines fun and sport, it’s Zumba.
As well asrelieving stress and letting off steam to the rhythms of the music (salsa, merengue, bachata, reggaeton…), Zumba works your cardio, endurance and breathing.
Are you a beginner? Don’t worry, Zumba is based on simple choreography and basic steps that are accessible to all, and which alsotrain your body language and auditory memory. Finally, Zumba is a complete sport that tones and strengthens several muscles and muscle groups.
The disadvantages and harm of Zumba
There are very few disadvantages to practising Zumba. However, because of the many variations in rhythm, it should be noted that Zumba involves intense cardio work. So it’s best to be in good physical condition. Zumba is not recommended for people with heart or joint problems.
