What is aquabiking? Information and practical information
Aquabiking, also known as pool biking or aquacycling, is a physical activity that allows you to cycle in the water. Sitting on a bike (such as an exercise bike) immersed in the water, usually up to your waist, you can pedal to the rhythm of the music. A variant of aqua gym, it can be done solo or in a group, with sessions lasting between 30 and 50 minutes.
If there’s one activity that’s had the wind in its sails in recent years in France, it’s aquabiking. Although it originated in Italy just over 20 years ago, this combination of aquagym and cycling remains a sport practised mainly by women. Indeed, although aquabiking is beneficial for everyone, the work involved in this discipline mainly targets areas such as the glutes, hips or stomach.
